George received his PhD in physics on June 3, 1973. He spent most of his career as a contractor for NASA. In the years up to and beyond his retirement he was very active in two religious groups, the Washington Ethical Society (1980’s) and then the Tacoma Metaphysical Chapel. In that period, he had friends in two Unity churches in Maryland and Northern Virginia. He occasionally attended services at both of those Unity churches and so was familiar with Unity. Upon moving to Florida (2016), he attended a Sunday service at the Unity Spiritual Center and decided to join Unity. George volunteered to be a Platform Assistant, having had much experience in front of a congregation at the Tacoma Metaphysical Chapel. A year or so later, George become a Prayer Chaplain. George became a member of the board in 2024. He currently serves as the board secretary and heads the finance committee.
